Wow... this is a first! "Nose Art" on a WW2 Jeep!

I've never seen that before!

The canvas flap that protects the passenger from mud and muck that flies up from front tire splashes, is something I don't remember seeing before also, but anyway, this photo was colored in, and the artist can't figure out the word under the pin up art. Any ideas?

Jeep vs tow truck, Chicago... you already know who wins, you only wonder how

the info with the video says the Jeep was getting towed out of Walgreens at Clark and Ontario,

The guy filming this, Marengo, told CBS Chicago he could hear the person in the Jeep yelling, "Hey stop buddy, I'm in here. Hey come on."

However, the driver did not appear to hear the man, who then started the Jeep and managed to pull free of the tow truck and drive away from the scene.

Workers with Protective Towing, the company identified on the side of the truck, declined to comment on whether the driver knew there was someone inside the Jeep and whether the vehicle was properly secured before managing to get free.

The original U.S. Army Medical Museum was founded as a research facility in Washington, D.C., in 1862. Today, the institution is known as the National Museum of Health and Medicine of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In 1920, our Museum was re-established at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, with the Medical Field Service School. In 1946, the School and Museum were transferred to Fort Sam Houston, Texas. In 1955, the Museum received its designation as the U.S. Army Medical Department Museum from the Surgeon General of the Army.

The details of how the wounded were moved, from horse drawn wagons, then trains, through Jeeps to helicopters are very well presented along with genuine examples of many types of military ambulance transportation. Included is a hospital railroad car built in the 1950s and actively used in Korea. This car, which is remarkably well preserved, represents the final evolution of military medical transportation by rail. By the 1960s just about all injured troops were being moved by specially equipped road vehicles, helicopters and jet airliners.

Fast Facts: 1,000,000 pounds of boulders, rocks and sand (2500 sand bags), used throughout the set to break up water flow and give surface disturbance;

Water (250,000 gallons) was pumped onto the street with water pumps hidden in the alley and placed in key spots. (The water was recycled using a closed water system that pumped water from the end of the street back to the top. The water was eventually discharged down the street, into Vancouver Harbor.);

400,000 pounds of snow – the snowbank was made of snow blanket and fish-ice; Logs, sticks, moss, and 80 fir/hemlock trees lined/covered the street. (The trees were boxed and returned to the nursery and boulders, gravel and other materials were also repurposed.);

 and Two wolves were on set. (The domesticated, mixed-breed wolves were made available from the Animal Insight for Film and TV. A representative from the American Humane Association was on set to attest that the wolves were treated humanely and procedures were followed. Observers were able to take pictures with the animals.)

Jeep Wrangler equipped with Haartz soft-top material

Early this year, Jeep launched the new 2013 models. All these models come with a new premium soft top which are made of Haartz’s Twillfast RPC. It is an acoustically enhanced three-ply composite made of acrylic twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and polyester lining fabric.

The soft tops are definitely cheaper than the retractable hardtop designs. However, the problems with soft tops is that they were not really good at noise insulation and are quite difficult to clean. Haartz’s soft top overcomes these by including a rubber inner layer which provides enhanced acoustics. Furthermore, the Twillfast RPC is easier to clean than previous materials used for the soft top Jeep models.
