3rd generation Ford dealership puts a 1911 piewagon in the showroom of the Bossier City Ford dealership

the New Orleans area 104-year-old dealership, is one of the top 10 in longevity with Ford and one of only a handful that have stayed with one owner family since day one in 1911 when George Wray Sr., (1881-1967) and Edwin Dickinson (1876-1959) started selling Fords

Displaying restored cars began about a decade ago when Wray had a 1967 Mustang restored to replicate the car Nicholas Cage drove in “Gone in Sixty Seconds.”

“It stayed on the showroom floor and people just loved looking at it,” Snelling said. “Then we had some guy stumble through here one day and just had to have it, cash, so we sold it. After we sold it we missed having something old on the showroom floor. Man, people just loved looking at those old vehicles.”

Snelling said a man from out of town once came through and looked at the 1911 Model T “and claimed it once belonged to his grandfather, that he'd ridden in a couple of parades in it.”

True or not, it brought back a lot of Ford memories, which is what the dealership wants.

“This is not about me, it’s about them,” Nelson said of the other owners and Ford fans and the Wrays. “It’s good for me, it’s good for them. I’m glad I did it, I’m proud of it and I know Wray Ford likes it. It starts a conversation in the showroom.”
